Magnetic Resonance Imaging services are available at PVH two days a week through a mobile truck provided by Alliance Imaging. MRI is used to scan patients and determine the severity of certain injuries. It uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create images of the body and does not
involve radiation. This type of imaging is useful for diagnosing injuries like a sprained ankle or back pain.
How to Prepare:
Upon arrival for your MRI test, you will be asked to fill out several forms. Collecting this information is necessary for your safety and to provide the physician who will interpret your exam with the most accurate details. You'll be asked to change into a hospital gown and remove all accessories like jewelry and other metallic objects. The Alliance Imaging truck docks beside the hospital and patients are escorted onto the truck for their exams, typically lasting about 30-45 minutes.
