Pulmonary Reconditioning Program, Phases 1 & 2
Doing simple things like getting out of bed or walking can be difficult and sometimes impossible if you are suffering from breathing problems. Whether breathing issues are caused by lung disease, respiratory illness, or injury, there are ways to make the task of daily living easier. Ask you doctor if pulmonary reconditioning is right for you.
The program is offered locally for people with chronic breathing problems. It’s aimed at helping people with breathing difficulties live more active lives through:
- Physical exercise
- Education
- Strength training
- Dietary counseling
- Group interaction
- Motivation
Your progress is monitored by a certified respiratory therapist. A unique program is designed by a team including the patient’s family physician, a dietitian, a pharmacist, and a physical therapist.
