| Plans are well under way for the Girls Night Out: Food, Fashion & Fun event being put on by Avanti Bridal Salon, Penobscot Valley Hospital and the PVH Auxiliary. The group is hosting a fashion show and fun night out on Saturday, November 5 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Mattanawcook Academy Cafeteria.
Tickets start at $20 and include admission to the event, gourmet appetizers and a goody bag. Only 250 tickets will be sold and tickets may not be available at the door. The group encourages you to get your tickets early at:

On November 1, one lucky ticket purchaser won a limo ride to the event for herself and up to eight friends, courtesy of Black Bair Limo Services.
Saturday evening will entail local models walking the runway in cruise wear, evening wear, prom and wedding gowns. Our own Miss Maine 2010, Arikka Knights, will be on hand, as well as over 20 vendors, and many door prizes will be awarded.

Be sure to bring extra cash to the show and start your holiday shopping early. The vendors listed above will have some great items for sale. You’ll even have the opportunity to have your picture taken in a professional photography session, so be sure to dress up. These vendors have all generously agreed to donate 10% of their evening’s sales to the PVH Annual Fund so you can be sure your purchase is helping a worthy cause.
All the money raised at the Girls Night Out fashion show will go toward the 2011 Penobscot Valley Hospital Annual Fund to purchase specially designed beds that aid in the prevention of falls and lifting injuries.
“We have 33 models taking part and over 200 fashions that will be featured in the show,” explains Rheta Hickey, Avanti Bridal Salon owner. “People attending the Girls Night Out event are in for a real treat. We have been working hard to ensure our guests have a great night out celebrated in our own community.”
