Laboratory
 PVH offers a full-service, state accredited laboratory providing a range of diagnostic testing services. Our highly trained, dedicated staff performs most testing on-site. Samples that are not tested on-site are sent to reference laboratories. Dahl-Chase Pathology Associates of Bangor provides pathology consultation, and the American Red Cross provides blood services.
By interfacing the Hospital’s information system with our instruments and our reference laboratory we efficiently provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic testing services, which ordering physicians may receive automatically. Patients may obtain test results from their own physicians or after signing a release form.
The Laboratory also provides services such as Breath Alcohol Testing and Urine Drug Screening as part of the hospital’s Industrial Medicine Services. For information on scheduling these procedures, contact Central Scheduling at (207) 794-7270.
 Laboratory outpatient hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday. Patients must bring a physician’s order to receive services.
Glucose Tolerance Testing, H Pylori Breath Testing, Therapeutic Phlebotomy, and Industrial Medicine Screenings require appointments through PVH Central Scheduling at (207) 794-7270.
