PVH Yard Sale
July 16, 2010
Community members and visitors to the Lincoln Lakes Region helped Penobscot Valley Hospital raise money for new patient beds on Thursday, July 15. The large yard sale at the empty lot next to McDonalds on West Broadway helped collect money toward new patient beds that will help prevent patient falls and ensure patient safety at PVH in Lincoln.
“This cause is very near and dear to many of our hearts,” says PVH Spokesperson Allison Bankston. “PVH wants to do everything we can to ensure patient safety and to prevent injuries from falls which could result in longer hospitalizations or complications.”
The hospital wanted to convey its heartfelt thanks to the Vanadestine family for donating the use of the lot on West Broadway and to everyone who was kind enough to donate goods for the yard sale. “We had several community members who donated items, as well as hospital staff,” says Bankston. “We also had several dedicated volunteers at the yard sale all day, including hospital employees, their family members, and PVH Auxiliary members. We couldn’t have done this without all of them.”
All the proceeds from this year’s hospital fundraising events will go toward the purchase of the new beds, including the hospital’s golf tournament which is scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2010 at JaTo Highlands in Lincoln. The yard sale took in a total of $1,657.95.
