| Diabetes Education Classes in 2009

(Lincoln, ME--) – Penboscot Valley Hospital is kicking off 2009 with a new round of Diabetes Education classes. The first, 5-week session begins on Wednesday, January 28.
In 2008, PVH’s program was honored by the American Diabetes Association which awarded a prestigious ADA Education Recognition Certificate to the facility in Lincoln. Only programs with the highest quality of education receive this honor from the ADA. The certification process assures that PVH’s Diabetes Education meets the national standards for diabetes self-management courses.
Any person interested in taking PVH’s Diabetes Education course should speak to his or her family physician, because a doctor’s referral is required. The dates for 2009 are as follows:
First Session
Class will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Class will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

PVH also offers a Diabetes Physical Activity class on each Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00-9:30 a.m. The cost of this program is $30 a month, and the activities are held in Conference Room D in the PVH Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in downtown Lincoln.
