General Radiography
| Penobscot Valley Hospital’s Imaging Department provides a wide range of general radiography examinations including, orthopedics, trauma, fluoroscopy, and some special procedures. All general radiography exams are performed using digital technique and the images are stored on a PACS (Picture Archival and Communications System) that PVH shares with EMMC, St. Joseph Hospital, Mayo Regional Hospital, and several other facilities. The acquisition of the PACS system gives local patients access to specialists at other facilities and simplifies inter-facility transfers for patients and staff.
