Saturday Mammograms at PVH
January 6, 2010
Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln is expanding its mammography services. The 25-bed, critical access hospital is going to be offering Saturday mammogram appointments one Saturday a month, starting with January 9 and February 6, 2010.
The American Cancer Society and the American College of Radiology recommend yearly mammograms for all women over the age of 40. PVH uses Mammopad® technology to make mammograms more comfortable for women. By providing a softer, more comfortable mammogram, the MammoPad® helps women relax and enables technologists to get the best possible image.
“Early detection is a major key to successfully treating breast cancer,” says Imaging Department Director Heather Hines.” To have a mammogram, you must first get a physician referral. You can call PVH Central Scheduling at 794-7270 to make your mammography appointment.
