PVH strives to ensure the highest level of patient safety is in place in all aspects of care.  Our staff work within their departments and across the organization on quality improvement projects that are continuously looking at our processes and care delivery systems to ensure safety steps are in place.  We provide transparency of our safety efforts by voluntarily reporting to the Leapfrog Hospital Survey.  Find more information about PVH on the Leapfrog website here: Leapfrog.

PVH has been the recipient of many awards and honors over the last few years. We have received local, regional and national recognition for the great care we provide at our rural hospital.
PVH was recognized on 11/16 by iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health for overall excellence in quality, reflecting top quartile performance among all rural acute care hospitals in the nation. 

Penobscot Valley Hospital was awarded Synernet Inc.’s “Most Improved Award” in September 2016 in recognition for its work place safety improvement initiatives.
