Description

  1. Provides leadership and support of efforts for organizational development
 
  1. Develops and implements physician practices patient-focused growth initiatives
 
  1. Develops and implements physician practice’s clinical enhancement strategies and programs
 
  1. Maintain processes for accurate monitoring and reporting of assigned items
 
  1. Empower and supports the operational team with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete operations initiatives
 
  1. Manages, by collaboration with department directors, the compliance with policies  and procedures ensuring annual review and up to date content
 
  1. Ability to step in to assist in both clinical and support practice functions, as appropriate
 
  1. Determine fiscal requirements and in conjunction with fiscal department, approve budgetary recommendations for the practices; monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budget funds
 
  1. Project management – develops, implements, and leads key initiatives to meet organizational goals
 
  1.  Assess needs for staff development, both in technical and soft skills, on an ongoing basis; respond appropriately by identifying/developing, and implementing mandatory staff trainings to address deficiencies and/or  improve performance
 
  1.  Ability to determine appropriate solutions to any issues/concerns that may arise
 
  1. Other duties as assigned
 
 
Quality Improvement
Actively participates in the hospital-wide Quality Improvement Program, actively supports and implements department-specific Quality Improvement initiatives and projects, recommends process improvement as appropriate, reports any quality issues in service delivery and consistently commits to a focus on quality improvement and organizational excellence.
 
Emergency/Disaster Management:  As an employee of Penobscot Valley Hospital, the position has an inherent role to care for our community members when in need. To this regard, the incumbent will be expected to participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning, and drills as requested. When called upon during a real life disaster/emergency event, the incumbent will be expected to participate in the Hospital’s response to this event, within the scope of professional and personal ability to do so.
 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in healthcare administration or related field or equivalent experience.  Two+ years of clinical healthcare experience required. Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent communication skills and highly organized. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly with Excel. Experience using Electronic Health Records preferred.
